After winning the league title, the Clatskanie Middle High School Softball Team is preparing for playoff competition.

"Our first playoff game will be Wednesday, May 22, at home," Athletic Director Ryan Thompkins said.

Clatskanie is 10-0 in league. Thompkins said Clatskanie's players are now focusing on the playoffs.

"Our goal is to play our best headed into the playoffs," he said. "Our girls basketball team won the state championship this winter and the confidence and experience that brought several of the girls, will definitely help as we look at a playoff run with the girls.”

Thompkins said the players have shown "incredible discipline at the plate, played team defense and have pitched very well."

"If they can keep that going, and have timely hitting in the playoffs, they will be a tough team to beat the last two weeks of May," Thompkins said.

Thompkins also congratulations all of the school’s track state qualifiers:

  • Trent Berntsen(800, 1500, 4X400)
  • Cooper Blodgett (100, 200, 4X100, 4X400)
  • Jake Bruce (200, 4X100, 4X400, Long Jump)
  • Natalie Katon (Shot Put)
  • Justice Osborn (4X100)

  • Josh Quevido (4X100)
