Clatskanie and Rainier go head-to-head in a Highway 30 Hootenanny on the Columbians turf at 7 p.m. on Nov. 9. Clatskanie comes in on the heels of a 16-point loss to Rainier in the regular season.
The Columbians (10-0) blasted the White Buffaloes (6-4) with a 44-0 blowout on Nov. 2 in Rainier, advancing through the first round of the state playoffs in the 3A division. The Columbians are 5-0 in the division and ranked No. 1 by Oregon School Activities Association. Madras had a 4-1 season in league play and was ranked No. 17.
Rainier continued its win streak with a recent 56-19 victory against Willamina (5-5) at homecoming and a 48-24 road win against Taft (1-8).
The Tigers (7-3), plucked Santiam Christian Eagles (7-3) in a 26-3 win that same Friday night, setting the stage for north county football fans. Ranked No. 8 in the division and 3-2 in league play, The Tigers defeated a No. 10 Eagles team that went 4-1 in the league.
Clatskanie dropped a game to Amity (9-1) on the road before a 49-14 win against Willamina.
