“Chase your dreams, but always know the road that will lead you home again.”

These words were collectively selected and agreed upon by the Clatskanie High School Graduating Class of 2019 to represent them as their class motto. These students reflect a great many dreams, talents, and passions. The roads they will soon traverse diverge into a vast array of exciting new endeavors; futures in careers, apprenticeships, collegiate sports, military training, and university education, to name a few.

Senior Student Body President, Foster Evenson, reflects that, as a group, “It may take a while, but once we flip the switch to ‘go,’ we really get moving and can get anything done.”

To date, while in “go” mode, the class of 2019 has accumulated an impressive resume of achievements. There have been state titles, academic honors, thousands of dollars in scholarships $350,000 to be exact, and countless memories and connections that will hold a lasting impact on the staff and students of Clatskanie Middle/High School.

After four years, this endearing group of students will make a bittersweet departure to “chase [their] dreams.” Their respective pursuits will place them all over the state, nation, and even world. Although the road leading home will faithfully and eternally remain as an open invitation to return, it is easy to assume that this group of individuals will forge many new experiences and accomplishments before they look to tread the familiar track home.

Always remember to take time to revel in this moment and thank all who have been instrumental in helping you achieve this milestone. It goes without saying, don’t forget your family when you are passing along words of appreciation to all who have been influential in your accomplishments.

We are proud of you.
