Karen Nolan

Karen passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on July 14, 2019, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Nov. 18, 1959 in Astoria, Oregon, to Beverly and Johnnie Palm. A lifelong resident of Clatskanie, she graduated from Clatskanie High School in 1978. She married Gary Nolan on March 3, 1979.

Karen was an amazing cook and had a sharp sense of humor. She could often be found working outside or alongside her husband in their wood shop. She enjoyed collecting record albums and listening to a wide variety of music. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Karen was preceded in death by her father Johnnie Palm.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years Gary; daughter Samantha Nolan White (Derek); son Jonathan Nolan (Jessica); mother Beverly Palm; brothers Rick Palm (Norma), Gary Palm (Gayle), Donald Drayton (Mary), and Bruce Palm; sister Vicki Remick (Howard); sister and best friend Cheryl Palm; grandson Harlan, for whom she hung the moon; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sat., July 20, 2019 at the residence of Duane Nolan on Jolma Road. Please follow signs.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to support the incredible work of Community Home Health and Hospice in Longview.
