UPDATE 6/5 11:52 a.m. On June 5, Oregon State Police Public Information Officer Timothy Fox provided more details about the crash along Highway 30.

According to Fox, on Tuesday, June 4 at 3:12 p.m., "the Oregon State Police responded to a serious injury crash on Highway 30 at the intersection of Neer City Road in Rainier, Oregon. Unit #1 (Silver Pick-up) was westbound on Highway 30 when the driver crashed into the back of Unit #2 (Green Subaru) which pushed it into the eastbound lane. Unit #3 (Silver Toyota) was eastbound when the driver crashed head-on into Unit #2.

Both occupants of Unit #2 sustained serious injuries and the driver was airlifted to OHSU. The driver of Unit #1 was arrested for DUII and subsequently consented to a blood draw. The driver of Unit #1 was then placed on a book and release at the Columbia County Jail. All three vehicles were towed by Grumpy’s Towing." 

UPDATE 6/5 9 a.m.: Highway 30 reopened following the crash investigation.

A car wreck has closed both lanes of traffic near Goble on Highway 30.

At 4:36 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, Columbia River Fire and Rescue released the following statement:

"Highway 30 at Neer City Road in Goble is closed in both directions due to a serious motor vehicle wreck that involved three vehicles. We have four patients, two which declined medical assessment, one who was transported via ambulance and one who was transported to a trauma hospital via LifeFlight. Oregon State Police is still on scene reconstructing the incident. The highway will remain closed for several hours during this process."
