Brendon Kyle Dahl and Bethany Belle Friant

Two Columbia County residents face criminal charges following a police investigation that led to the seizure of half a pound of methamphetamine, 16 ounces of heroin and $3,000 in cash.

The drug bust unfolded in Rainier on June 5, after Rainier Police received a tip from Longview Police that a male and female were possibly in possession of a large quantity of drugs and were staying at the Rainier Budget Inn, located in the 100 block of A Street.

Rainier Police officers located the suspects’ vehicle with two suspects inside, 23-year-old Brendon Kyle Dahl and 24-year old Bethany Belle Friant, both of Rainier. The two had fugitive warrants for their arrest from another state.

Officers called in the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) for assistance, and investigators from both agencies on scene were able to spot the butt of a firearm beneath a seat in the car, and a scale in the back seat.

The CCSO immediately wrote a search warrant and had it signed by a judge to search the vehicle. During the search, investigators located a firearm, registered to Dahl, the scale, half a pound of meth, 16 ounces of heroin and approximately $3,000 in cash, according to Columbia County Sheriff Brian Pixley.

Based on the quantity of drugs found, the cash, the scale, and plastic baggies found in the suspects’ vehicle, Pixley said both Dahl and Friant were charged with unlawful delivery of meth and heroin.

Dahl was lodged in the Columbia County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful delivery of heroin, and as a felon in possession of a weapon.
